Teachers:

Christine Anderson: Yoga Instructor/Thai Massage therapist
Christine's introduction to yoga in 1999 was more a demand from her heart and soul than her body or mind.  Had she known what yoga would ask of her in the years to come, Christine isn't sure today that she would have been brave enough to travel that path... What she knows now is that through the grace of yoga she has unearthed the wondrous strength, courage, calm and vibrancy that had always existed within.  Meeting this part of herself has inspired her to teach the discipline of yoga in hopes that you too may meet the beautiful being that hides inside of you!
Christine is also a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner, practicing in the spirit of metta.  Her growth as a yoga instructor and thai therapist has been inspired and supported by so many great teachers... her humble thanks to them for being strength, wisdom, compassion and truth.  Even (and especially) when she didn't ask!
Ron Reid, Diane Bruni, Richard Freeman, Hart Lazer, Nitya Kandath, Kam Thye Chow, Mark Darby... to name but only a few.

Christian Pagé: Christian Pagé has been teaching Hatha yoga for 7 years and Ashtanga yoga for 2 years. He has completed the advanced teachers training course at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre and an Ashtanga yoga Intensive course at the Ashtanga Montreal and Sattva Yoga Shala.
Christian’s yoga teaching style focuses on principles of alignment while invoking useful philosophical concepts which are useful.

Kate Brennan: Through her expertise in massage therapy and her 10 years of yoga study, Kate brings a therapeutic approach to her classes. Her gentleness and sweetness is welcome by all.

Jamie Lee: an artist and former triathlete from Branford, Ontario, has been working in the health industry for more than 15 years. He has lead retreats and training camps in various parts of the United States, Canada and in the Caribbean. Jamie graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor in Kinesiology and went onto coach Olympic distance triathlon, duathlon and Ironman athletes. Forever seeking to enhance his training programs, Jamie began exploring yoga. Overtime, the holistic benefits of regular yoga practice became more important than athletic competition and outward performance. Particularly, the path of Ashtanga yoga became his own personal practice as a yogi and a teacher.

Introduction to Ashtanga yoga

Classes for students new to Ashtanga

Emphases is placed firstly on movement with the breath (vinyasa)

Sun salutations, standing postures and postures from the primary series are introduced with alignment as an essential aspect of the instruction.

Even experienced practitioner can benefit from this class.

An extension of the level one where more postures from the primary series is added.

Variations of some of the more difficult postures are also shown with the key to alignment, which allows one to unfold the energy from the practice.

The flow of the class is faster so familiarity with level one is essential.

Be ready to sweat!

This class is for students with an established practice with knowledge of the alternative postures (if necessary).

Full primary series is taught and postures from the intermediate series are introduced.

Self practice with individual attention from the instructor in the room.

This is the original method of instruction given by Krisnamacharya and passed on by his disciple Shri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore hence the name Mysore style.

Students practice at their own pace and level with postures completed in its correct sequence. The instructor is there to assist and advise individually whenever needed.

As the student progresses, more advanced postures are introduced.
